CHRIS ADELMANN

Chris Adelmann is based in Los Angeles. He is EVP of Business Development at Live Nation. He has extensive experience in media consulting, investment banking and corporate development. His clients include Alcatel, AIG Capita, British Aerospace, Dutch Broadcasting, GE Capital, and Sony. He is Senior Adviser to Loews Cineplex, developing and executing their China strategy. Mr. Adelmann is also Adviser to Parkview International, of Hong Kong, advising them on their major, multi-use real estate development in Battersea Power Station in London. Prior to this he was EVP at Warner Brothers International Cinemas 1996-2001, driving growth to 1,200 screens in seven countries. Mr. Adelmann was Director, Worldwide Business Development, Hard Rock Café, the subsidiary of Rank PLC, 1993-96, and worked at Bankers Trust 1991-1993, where he advised companies and financial sponsors on cross border acquisitions and financings. Mr. Adelmann began his career in corporate finance with Lorimar Telepictures. He holds an MBA from UCLA (Anderson) and a BA from Hobart College.

   
 

HYO-WHI BAIK

Hyo-Whi Baik is based in Seoul. He was CEO of KEFICO Corp, an automotive JV between Hyundai Motor, Bosch and Mitsubishi Group, from 1997-2002. Mr. Baik was COO of the Hyundai Motor Corporation where he played a significant role in the development before moving to KEFICO as senior EVP, and then becoming president & CEO of Hyundai Motor America. Prior to that, he led various overseas branches of Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. in Europe and Middle East Asia for 17 years. Mr. Baik has a degree in business administration from Korea University in Seoul. He speaks fluent Korean and English.

   
 

JP LA FOREST

JP La Forest is a Senior Advisor based in Detroit. He was previously Director & Acting Country Manager of Tenneco Korea Ltd, a subsidiary of Tenneco Inc, a $6.2B auto components company. Before opening Tenneco's office and operation in Korea, he worked on Korea, Japan, and China growth strategies as Director - Business Development. He previously co-founded Slingshot Solutions, which developed online marketplaces to accelerate asset recovery and reverse logistics. He worked as a consultant to the automotive industry, first with Booz.Allen & Hamilton and then at General Motors. He also lived in Japan and worked in China. He held product engineering roles at Tenneco and AAP St. Mary's, a subsidiary of Hitachi Metals. He has an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the University of Dayton.

   
 

PETER HARRIS

Peter Harris is a Senior Advisor based in Shanghai. He was formerly Senior Managing Director and a member of the Board of Directors of Javelin Investments, a business consulting and advisory firm working for multinationals and Chinese companies to develop and grow, largely across borders. Before that, he was President, ARCO Chemical Asia-Pacific and directed business in China and Asia in excess of US$1bn per year. He held senior executive and financial management positions in Atlantic Richfield and Sun Oil over a period of three decades. Mr. Harris holds an MA degree in Chinese Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London, and an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is a Chartered Accountant, lectures on business in China, and sits on the Executive Committee of the British Chamber of Commerce of Shanghai.

   
 

MARK JUHN

Mark Juhn is based in Seoul. He is also CEO of Hyundai Corporation, a leading Korean trading company and exporter with operations in Machinery & Plant, Steel, Chemicals, Information & Telecoms. Mr. Juhn has played a key role in the development of the Korean automotive industry, with over 30 years of sector experience. He started his career with six years at General Motors, followed by 24 years at Hyundai Motor Company, where he was President and CEO of Hyundai Motor America, headed Hyundai Auto Canada, and headed Hyundai Motor Finance Company. He led Kia Motor as COO and head of International from 2000-2003. Mr. Juhn has a degree in industrial engineering from Seoul’s Hanyang University. He speaks fluent Korean, English and Spanish, and conversational Dutch.

   
 

PARTHIV KILACHAND

Parthiv Kilachand is a Senior Advisor based in Mumbai. He is entrepreneur, involved in JVs and operations with Connell Bros Co, USA (for manufacturing and distribution of specialty chemicals) and AVX Corp, USA (for capacitors). He is the founder of Sun Tan Trading Co, the authorized distributor for Diageo in India for its premium spirits including Johnnie Walker, J&B, Smirnoff. He was previously a venture capitalist at Antfactory. He makes strategic investments and sits on several Boards including the franchisee for the Hard Rock Café in India, and a specialized warehousing company. He is also a member of the Mumbai Angels, an early stage angel investing group in Mumbai. Parthiv has been active in the Indian Merchants Chamber and the West Wind Nursery school, and is a member of the Young Presidents Organization. He was educated at the Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai, at Eton College in England and Brown University in the USA, from where he holds a dual Bachelors degree in Engineering and Economics.

   
 

YUUICHIRO NAKAJIMA

Yuuichiro Nakajima is based in Tokyo. Mr. Nakajima was Founder and formerly a Managing Partner of a Tokyo-based merchant bank, Crimson Phoenix. From 1999 to 2003 Mr. Nakajima was Managing Director in the investment banking business of PricewaterhouseCoopers in London and Tokyo. From 1997 to 1999 Mr. Nakajima was Director and Head of Execution at Crosby Corporate Advisory in London. Mr. Nakajima joined S.G. Warburg (now UBS Investment Bank) in 1987 in London and served as Head of its Tokyo M&A team from 1994 to 1996. Mr. Nakajima was educated at Keio University (Economics) and London Business School (Business Administration). He is bilingual in Japanese and English.

   
 

FRANCOIS PERIER

Francois Perier is based in Paris. He worked from 1983-2002 in senior management positions for the European oil and gas majors, Total and Elf. He served on the main Board of Directors of Total, as a member of the Executive Committee of TotalFinaElf, Senior EVP for chemicals, COO of Atofina (with 70,000 employees and revenues of Euros20bn), COO of Elf Atochem, as a member of Executive Committee of Elf Atochem in charge of basic chemicals, and as EVP of Acrylics. 1977-1982, he served as a French civil servant at the Corps des Mines from 1977 until 1982, first in charge of a regional environment protection agency then in the French Ministry of Industry and at the Ecole des Mines de Paris; he also worked part-time for President Mitterrand in 1981. He was educated at the Ecole des Mines de Paris (in chemicals) and the Ecole Polytechnique (in the automotive sector).

   
 

RICHARD RAYNSFORD

Richard Raynsford is based in London and Mumbai. For the last fifteen years he has traveled widely through the Middle East and Asia as an independent consultant. He is currently a director of Lake District Estates Ltd. Mr. Raynsford was previously executive director of Shapland & Petter Ltd. He was called to the Bar by Lincoln’s Inn in 1974 and spent six years working in the Political Risk, Kidnap and Ransom divisions of the Hogg Robinson Group. In 1968 he was commissioned into the British army where he served five years with the Life Guards. Mr. Raynsford was educated at Eton College, the Sorbonne, Paris and the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester.

   
 

RODDY SALE

Roddy Sale is based in Mumbai. Mr. Sale is an independent consultant specializing in multinational entry and acquisition strategies particularly for the mining, media, and telecoms sector. In 2001 to 2002, Mr. Sale was Managing Director & Head of Investment Banking, India and Sri Lanka for JPMorgan. From 1993-2001, he was Director and Head of Capital Markets / Investment Banking, India & Sri Lanka for Jardine Fleming, at that stage Asia's leading regional investment bank. Mr. Sale's clients have included The Indian Government (for whom he pioneered and led the privatization process for VSNL, Gas Authority of India, Bharat Aluminium and Hotel Corporation of India and restructured the Andra Pradesh State Electricity Board), BHP Billiton, Deccan Gold Mines, Hindustan Lever, Lafarge, Nicholas Piramal, Mercury Oil & Gas, SEMPRA Metals, Spryance, VSNL. He has lived in India since 1993. His previous employers include Robert Fleming and Merrill Lynch. He was Commissioned as a Captain in the British Army (Welsh Guards) 1979-1986.

   
 

PRADEEP SAXENA

Pradeep Saxena is a Senior Advisor based in Mumbai, India. His career spans thirty years in International Banking and Information Technology. He was President of eFunds International from 2000 to 2003. Before that he was Managing Director and CEO of the South Asia Region of ING Barings and Executive Director with Merrill Lynch International, London. He has also worked in senior management positions for MashreqBank, Commercial Bank of Oman, and the American Express Bank in the US, UK and India. This included an assignment as VP and Head of Corporate Banking, American Express India. He has a BSc in Economics and a MSc from the University of Mumbai.

   
 

MICHAEL SCHULTZ

Michael Schultz is a senior advisor to BDA based in New York, covering the international Apparel and Fashion industry. He has been a successful retailer and wholesale manufacturer for 30 years. He was responsible for merchandising, operations, strategy, and business development for a number of leading apparel, accessories and housewares brands. He joined Urban Outfitters Inc in 1985, where he was a Division President and grew the company, alongside its founder, for 15 years. Michael co-created the initial strategy and business plans for Urban Outfitters, Free People, and Anthropologie. He subsequently served as the global CEO of Lulu Guinness Ltd and Cath Kidston Ltd. Michael owns properties in Florida, Colorado and the Hamptons, and holds a real estate broker's license with Corcoran. Michael's passions include sailing. He graduated with a BSc in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

   
 
NORIYUKI SONODA

Noriyuki Sonoda is a Senior Advisor based in Tokyo. He was formerly employed by Kuraray Co. Ltd, a US$2.5bn Japanese textile and chemical company, where he worked for 37 years. Mr. Sonoda was primarily responsible for developing the overseas trading businesses of both the textile and chemicals divisions. From 1996 to 1998, he managed Kuraray's PVOH Division as Deputy General Manager and from 1998 to 2001 he was Managing Director of Kuraray Specialties Asia Pte. Ltd. (Singapore), the regional HQ of Kuraray's chemicals business. Mr. Sonoda was educated at KeioUniversity (BA in Business and Commerce).
   
 

DON STRASZHEIM

Don Straszheim is based in Los Angeles. He is Vice Chairman of Roth Capital Partners, the leading US small and micro cap specialist investment bank. He was previously Chairman and CEO of Straszheim Global Advisors, an analytical research firm providing China-focused macroeconomic and financial advice to governments, financial institutions, multinationals and institutional money managers. From 1985 to 1997, Don was Chief Economist for Merrill Lynch and Co, the world's largest securities firm. He was voted ten consecutive years to Institutional Investor's All-Star Team (equity or fixed income). Straszheim left Wall Street to serve as President of the Milken Institute (1997-2002), a not-for-profit, economic- and public-policy think tank, now serving as Vice Chairman. Straszheim is a regular analyst in the business and financial media and a well-known speaker. Earlier he held positions at Wharton Econometrics, the Weyerhaeuser Company and Investors Diversified Services, now American Express Advisors. He has various board and other relationships. He holds BS, MS and PhD degrees from Purdue University.
