JONATHAN AIKEN, CFA | Senior Associate

Jonathan Aiken is a Senior Associate based in London. Before joining BDA, Mr. Aiken worked for Taylor-DeJongh on global project finance in the energy and infrastructure sectors. In this capacity, he worked on a variety of projects, including toll roads in North America, infrastructure projects on the African continent and energy projects in the Middle East. Prior to that, he worked at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation's portfolio management division in Washington D.C. Mr. Aiken holds an MBA and a Masters in International Affairs from the George Washington University. He is fluent in English and French and proficient in Mandarin.

DOROTHY CAI | Senior Associate

Dorothy Cai is a Senior Associate based in Shanghai. Before joining BDA, Ms. Cai worked as an Equity Research Analyst for China International Capital Corporation (CICC), one of the leading Chinese investment banks. Ms. Cai covered listed companies in Shanghai and Hong Kong with a focus on the Steel sector. She conducted in-depth industrial research and prepared investment reports based on market intelligence and quantitative modeling. Prior to that, Ms. Cai worked in Assurance and Advisory Business Service Department of Ernst & Young Shanghai, where she provided auditing and internal control evaluation services for MNCs and SOEs. Ms. Cai holds a MBA from China Europe International Business School and a Bachelor degree in Economics from Peking University. She is fluent in Mandarin and English.

PUNEET GOYAL | Senior Associate

Puneet Goyal is a Senior Associate based in Mumbai. Before joining BDA, he was a Senior Associate at Avista Advisory/Houlihan Lokey in Mumbai where he worked on capital raising and crossborder M&A. His transactions included advising Europe’s largest smart-phone and telecom equipment manufacturer on a US$350m debt restructuring and acquisition by an Indian conglomerate, advising a leading Indian low cost airline on financing options for 10 aircraft, raising US$70m for an infrastructure company, and US$50m for a theme park project by an Indian media company. Mr. Goyal is a Chartered Accountant, and previously worked at Pricewaterhouse Coopers in Mumbai. He holds a B. Commerce from the University of Mumbai. He is fluent in Hindi and English.

DIWAKAR MITR | Senior Associate

Diwakar Mitr is a Senior Associate based in Mumbai.  He has transaction experience in the chemicals, industrials and life sciences sectors. He advised on the divestment of the polymers division of Apar Industries to Eliokem; the acquisition of the valves business of BDK Engineering Industries by The Weir Group; and acquisition of the Applied Biosystems distribution business of LabIndia by Life Technologies.  Before joining BDA, he worked at Transparent Shares & Securities Pvt. Ltd where he was responsible for analyzing and trading equities on the National Stock Exchange of India.  Mr. Mitr graduated from Dartmouth College with a BA degree in Economics and Computer Science.  He is fluent in English and Hindi.

JAY SHIN | Senior Associate

Jay Shin is a Senior Associate based in Seoul. Before joining BDA, Mr. Shin worked as an Investment Analyst at Prytania Investment Advisors LLP, a London-based hedge fund. Prior to that, Mr. Shin worked at Hyundai Motor Company, where he served as a North American Regional Specialist. Mr. Shin holds a BS in Business Administration from Yonsei University, a BS in Business Administration from Ohio State University, and a Masters in Finance from London Business School. He has passed the third level of the CFA and is waiting for his official designation. He is fluent in English and Korean.

ERIC SON | Senior Associate

Eric Son is a Senior Associate based in Seoul. Prior to joining BDA, Mr. Son was a Manager of Transaction and Financial Advisory Services for PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he performed financial modeling, advanced valuation and due diligence on various transactions including M&A, equity and hybrid investments by global corporations and leading buy-side institutions. Prior to that, Mr. Son worked for Kotra/Invest KOREA in Vancouver promoting direct investment and analyzing entry strategy for leading Canadian companies. Mr. Son is a CFA charterholder and holds a Bachelor of Administrative Commercial Studies, specializing in Finance from the University of Western Ontario. He is fluent in English and Korean.

JASON SONG | Senior Associate

Jason Song is a Senior Associate based in Shanghai. Mr. Song was previously based in BDA's New York and Tokyo offices and has experience originating and executing advisory mandates in the United States, China, Japan and Korea. Before joining BDA, Mr. Song worked at the Carbon Disclosure Project in London, where he undertook research on electrical utilities for leading US pension funds. Prior to that, he worked in the office of Phil Willis, MP in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, where he conducted economic analysis on UK education policy. Mr. Song was educated at the University of Wisconsin (BA, Economics), the University of Paris (Maîtrise, Political Science) and the London School of Economics and Political Science (Master, Philosophy and Public Policy). He speaks English, Chinese and French.

CHRISTOPHE WALEWSKI | Senior Associate

Christophe Walewski is a Senior Associate based in London. Before joining BDA, Mr. Walewski worked for Ernst & Young in Paris, where he audited major manufacturing companies such as Lafarge, Plastic Omnium and Airbus. Prior to that, he worked for ABN Amro in equity sales in Paris. Mr Walewski graduated from the ESCP-EAP European School of Management in Paris with an MSc in Management, and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Paris. He has also studied at the Indian Institute of Management in Lucknow, India. He is fluent in English, French and Spanish.

TANYA WANG | Senior Associate

Tanya Wang is a Senior Associate based in Shanghai. Prior to joining BDA, Ms. Wang worked at the Assurance and Advisory Business Service Department of Ernst & Young Shanghai, where she was responsible for PRC and IFRS statutory audit, internal control evaluation, credit review, financial statement analysis, IPO audit, and due diligence for M&A transactions by multinational companies. Her clients include Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, Mizuho Corporate Bank, United Overseas Bank, Fuji Xerox and Lear, and more. Ms. Wang graduated from Peking University with double B.A. degrees, in English literature as well as Economics and Finance. She speaks fluent Mandarin and English.

AHMED AL BALOOSHI | Associate

Ahmed Al Balooshi is an Associate based in Shanghai and Bahrain. Prior to joining BDA, Mr. Al Balooshi worked at BNP Paribas covering investment banking solutions for Middle Eastern financial institutions. He also completed training programs covering corporate and investment banking with Citigroup, private wealth management with Merrill Lynch, and Islamic Finance with Arab Banking Corporation. Mr. Al Balooshi holds a Masters in Finance from Instituto de Empresa Business School in Madrid and a BA in Business Administration from the American University in Beirut. He is fluent in Arabic and English and conversant in Mandarin.

AKHIL BHEDA | Associate

Akhil Bheda is an Associate based in Mumbai. Before joining BDA, Mr. Bheda worked as a Business Analyst at Infogenia Advisors in Mumbai, providing PE deal support and corporate advisory services. Prior to that, he worked for KPMG in their Financial Advisory Services team in Mumbai, providing financial due diligence services for M&A deals and PE investments in India and abroad. Mr. Bheda holds an MBA degree in Finance from S P Jain Center of Management, Dubai/Singapore and a Bachelors degree in Commerce, specializing in Banking and Insurance, from Mumbai University. He is fluent in Hindi and English.

ALICIA CAO | Associate

Alicia Cao is a Associate based in Shanghai. Before joining BDA, she worked in a logistics company based in London for 6 months where she held a marketing position communicating with both Chinese clients and partners in the Maldives. Prior to that, she achieved a master's degree from Durham University in England majoring in International Banking and Finance. Ms. Cao earned her Bachelors in International trading and Economics from Jilin University. Alicia is fluent in Mandarin and English.

RANGA COVINDASSAMY | Associate

Ranga Covindassamy is an Associate based in New York. Before joining BDA, he was a Senior Analyst in the emerging markets group of management and technology consulting firm BearingPoint Inc. In this role, he conducted financial and accounting analysis on projects across Asia, Africa, and Latin America working for both donor (World Bank, USAID) and private sector clients. He previously worked at Merrill Lynch and Electricite de France. Mr. Covindassamy has an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School (Finance) and a Bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University (Finance, International Business, and Mathematics). He is fluent in French and English.

ALEXANDER DITCHFIELD | Associate

Alexander Ditchfield is an Associate based in Shanghai. Before joining BDA, he worked on policy for the European Union’s SWITCH-Asia and Asia Invest projects, promoting sustainable development, trade and investment flow between EU and Asia, at the EU Project Incubation (EUPIC) Centre in Chengdu, China. He graduated with a BSc in Economics from Cardiff University in the UK. He speaks Mandarin and English.

MAX KUBICKI | Associate

Max Kubicki is an Associate based in Shanghai. Before joining BDA, he studied Mandarin at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, where he was a recipient of the Chinese Government Scholarship. Prior to that, he worked as a Risk Analyst at AKE Group in London, a security and political risk consultancy, covering the Asia Pacific region. Mr. Kubicki graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science with a Master’s degree in International Political Economy, and earned a Bachelor’s in East Asian Studies from New York University. He speaks Mandarin, English, and Polish.

JORDAN SELLECK | Associate

Jordan Selleck is an Associate based in New York. Before joining BDA, Mr. Selleck lived in Shanghai for two years, studying Chinese and co-coordinating a business networking group. Before that, he worked in the Private Wealth Management Division at Merrill Lynch in Raleigh, North Carolina. Mr. Selleck holds a BS in Communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is fluent in English and conversant in spoken and written Mandarin.

KEVIN SONG | Associate

Kevin Song is an Associate based in Shanghai. Prior to joining BDA, he was an Investment Analyst at Global Market Trading Group in New York, providing PE investment assessment, due diligence, research, and target valuation advice in North American and Asian markets. He holds an MSc degree from the School of Engineering and Applied Science in Columbia University, an MSc degree from the School of Mathematics of Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China. He speaks Mandarin Chinese and English.

AKASH UBA, CFA | Associate

Akash Uba is an Associate based in Mumbai. He previously worked as an Analyst with CRISIL, a Standard & Poor's company and India's leading rating agency. At CRISIL, he undertook credit rating assignments for several fast-growing Indian companies belonging to automotive, industrials and infrastructure sectors. Mr. Uba graduated from the University of Delhi with an honours degree in Economics and is a CFA charterholder. He is fluent in English and Hindi.

Ba Xi is an Associate based in Shanghai. Before joining BDA, he worked at KPMG Shanghai, where he carried out statutory financial audits and evaluated internal controls for companies in the hospital, FMCG, textile machinery, and construction materials industries. He graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, B Econ. He attended the summer program at Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania in 2005, and interned at the Boston Consulting Group and General Electric. He is fluent in English and Mandarin.

JESS ZHOU | Associate

Jess Zhou is an Associate based in Hong Kong. Ms. Zhou was initially a Summer Analyst at BDA in 2007, in which role she assisted on several cross-border M&A transactions in the Chemicals and Food & Beverage sector. Ms. Zhou was educated at the University of Hong Kong. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Law) degree. Ms. Zhou is fluent in Cantonese, English, Mandarin and Shanghainese.

ANDY BRYANT | Analyst

Andy Bryant is an Analyst based in Tokyo. Mr. Bryant graduated from the University of Bath in 2008 with a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to joining BDA, he worked on business development projects for Oliver Crispin Robotics in the UK. During his undergraduate study, he also studied as an exchange student at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, with backing from the Royal Academy of Engineering. He studied Japanese as a holder of the Daiwa scholarship sponsored by Daiwa Securities. He is fluent in English and proficient in Japanese.

CHRISTINE CHENG | Analyst

Christine Cheng is an Analyst based in Shanghai. Before joining BDA, Ms. Cheng worked at the headquarters of Liz Claiborne, a fashion conglomerate in New York, in corporate development and international growth strategy, at Xiu.com, a leading Chinese luxury e-commerce company, in international business development, and at Schneider Electric in France, in general management. Ms. Cheng has a Master's in International Management from the London School of Economics and took MBA courses in finance and investment at Kellogg School of Management. She also has a Bachelor's in Corporate Finance and Information Systems from Reims Management School in France and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing. She is fluent in Mandarin, English, and French.

DOREEN DONG | Analyst

Doreen Dong is an Analyst based in New York. Before joining BDA, Ms. Dong worked at the Public Counsel Law Center in Los Angeles and the investment banking division of GF Securities in Guangzhou. She graduated from Columbia University with a Master of International Affairs in 2011. During her undergraduate years she studied in China, the U.S., and France and earned a Bachelor of Economics and Finance degree from Sun Yat-sen University in 2009. Ms. Dong is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and English, and speaks basic French.

MATHEW FERGUSON | Analyst

Mathew Ferguson is an Analyst based in Tokyo.  Prior to joining BDA, Mr. Ferguson held positions at TD Waterhouse and DundeeWealth Management in Toronto, Canada.  He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from the University of Windsor in Canada and upon receiving the Omron Research Assistantship Scholarship, he is pursuing his MBA at Doshisha University in Japan.  Mr. Ferguson is a CFA Level 2 candidate and is fluent in English and conversant in Japanese.

NICKY KIM | Analyst

Nicky Kim is an Analyst based in Seoul. Before joining BDA, she worked in the Research Department of the Financial Supervisory Service in Korea, where she conducted research into international financial market regulations. She has an MBA from KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), and a B Commerce in Accounting and Commercial Law from the University of Auckland. Ms. Kim studied Finance at the University of California, Irvine and at the National University of Singapore. She is fluent in Korean and English, and speaks Japanese.

DONGBIN KIM | Analyst

Dongbin Kim is an Analyst based in Seoul. Mr. Kim studied International Studies, Economics, and Business Administration at Korea University. While he was in school, he was a member of the Investment and Finance Research Association (IFRA), where he conducted weekly sessions on market indices, valuations, and developed knowledge in financial instruments. Prior to Korea University, he served in the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) for twenty-seven months as an Assistant Surveillance Supervisor. Before that, he attended Boston College, studying Economics and Mathematics. He is fluent in Korean and English, and proficient in German.

Previously, Mr. Li worked for HSBC Global Markets, Hutchison Port Holdings, and The HKSAR Transport Bureau. Mr. Li holds a Bachelor of Law Degree, and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Hong Kong. He speaks fluent English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

JIAGENG LI | Analyst

Jiageng Li is an Analyst based in Shanghai. Before joining BDA, Mr. Li worked at UBS Financial Services Inc. in Los Angeles, where he conducted industry and company research covering US electronic equipment, energy, power supply, and Chinese beverage markets. Mr. Li holds an MSc in Applied Finance degree from Pepperdine University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade. NANCY LIU | Analyst

Nancy Liu is an Analyst based in Hong Kong.  Prior to joining BDA, Ms. Liu worked at PwC Hong Kong where she was involved in various projects relating to PRC tax and business advisory in the Financial Services, Consumer, Real Estate, and Electronics sectors.   Ms. Liu was a Summer Analyst at BDA in 2008.  She was educated at Peking University and Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and holds a BBA (Hon) in Accounting and Finance. Ms. Liu is a CPA candidate. She is fluent in Cantonese, English, Mandarin and speaks basic Burmese.

SHAO JUN LO | Analyst

Shao Jun Lo is an Analyst based in London. Before joining BDA he worked as an analyst, researching and supporting acquisitions in the European consumer and luxury sectors for IDG Capital Partners, a China headquartered private equity firm. Prior to that Mr. Lo also worked for Fung Capital, the private investment firm of the Fung family, founders of the Li & Fung group, in London, and bfinance International, a specialist financial advisory firm in London. Mr. Lo holds an MSc in Banking & Finance from Newcastle University and is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin

JENNY Z. WANG | Analyst

Jenny Z. Wang is an analyst based in Shanghai. Prior to joining BDA, she worked in Shanghai office of Smith Street Solution Consulting and Advisory, a New York based boutique consulting company, where she did market entry and market growth strategy in China for multinational clients. Ms. Wang graduated from Shanghai Jiaotong University in 2009, with a Bachelor’s degree in Management. During her undergraduate study, she also studied as an exchange student in the University of Hong Kong and UDS in Germany in the subjects of economics and law. She speaks fluent Mandarin and English and is proficient in German.

Wendy Wen is an Analyst based in New York. Before joining BDA, Ms. Wen worked as a consultant for Illinois Business Consulting, assisting industrial clients. Before that, she worked at Zhonglei Certified Public Accountants in Beijing. She holds a Bachelor degree in Finance from the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing and a Master of Science in Accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
