South East Asian Chemical News

A bimonthly newsletter of developments in the specialty chemicals market.

ISSUE 8, AUGUST 1998

Introduction

South East Asian specialty chemicals companies are suffering from the downturn in regional economies.  Many are particularly hurt by currency devaluation, as key raw materials are imported and priced in US dollars.  Asian companies in both the bulk and specialty sectors are looking for foreign partners but are reluctant to sell their equity at bargain-basement prices.  Nevertheless, we have seen a significant increase in corporate activity, particularly in China.

We hope that you find South East Asian Chemical News useful and informative.  BDA is a corporate finance advisory firm that helps its clients to identify and execute acquisitions and joint ventures in South East Asia.  If you think that BDA’s services may be useful to you, please contact us in New York at (212) 265-5300.
