BDF is the Indonesian arm of the German company Beiersdorf AG. The expansion was necessary, in part, to meet the 50% increase in exports to other Asian countries. (September 30th 1998)
Takeda Chemical Industries Ltd of Japan is considering contracting the Indonesian production of its antibiotics to PT Meiji Indonesia Pharmaceutical Industries, a JV between an Indonesian company and Meiji Seika Kaisha Ltd of Japan. Similarly, Tanabe Seiyaku of Japan is considering shifting the formulation of Adona, a styptic agent, to its Indonesian subsidiary, PT Tanabe-Abadi, in late 1998 or early 1999. The subsidiary is also being considered for the production of Alinamin-F injection from PT Takeda Indonesia. (September 15th 1998)
